Malayalam star Asif Ali’s biggest solo hit, Kishkindha Kaandam, is finally out on OTT – almost two months after its theatrical run. The mystery-thriller, which released in theatres during Onam along with Tovino Thomas’ Ajayante Randam Moshanam, not only earned critical acclaim for its script and performances but also went on to become a huge hit.
The film, which is directed by Dinjith Ayyathan and scripted by Bahul Ramesh, is expected to garner even wider acclaim after its OTT release, especially with it being available in five languages.

Kishkindha Kaandam is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar and is available in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. The movie marks the streaming platform’s second big release this month, after Tovino’s fantasy action-adventure film Ajayante Randam Moshanam began streaming earlier in November.

The film begins with how a newly-married duo is welcomed at their house by the cops, who are searching for a missing gun. As the story progresses, the wife, essayed by Aparna, begins to connect the pieces linking the past of Appupillai (Vijayaraghavan) and Ajayan (Asif) as well as the gun, and unravels secrets that each of them has been trying to forget.

Reasons to watch Kishkindha Kaandam on Disney+ Hotstar
Even though Asif has been part of some riveting thrillers this year including Level Cross, Kishkindha Kaandam’s script and performances keep the audience on the edge of their seats. The storytelling progresses at a steady pace, while ensuring the audience catches every clue and emotion of the plot and characters, leading to a brilliant and unexpected payoff.
The film’s unpredictability also makes it work for audiences, not just in Malayalam but cinema lovers in general. If you are a fan of Malayalam cinema, it doesn’t often get better than Kishkindha Kaandam, which has one of the best performances by Vijayaraghavan and Asif, playing a father-son duo, who have their own struggles.
