Foreign Investors’ Association in Albania, alongside various business chambers, recently presented the results of its 2024 Business Environment Survey. Conducted between August and October, the survey gathered insights from the foreign investment community in Albania.
The survey included businesses from key sectors such as IT, heavy industries, energy, financial services, logistics, tourism, and consulting.
The findings were shared at an event attended by government representatives and the European Union, where the results were compared to last year’s survey.
The 2024 survey showed slight improvements in the overall perception of the business climate compared to 2023, though challenges remain. Foreign investors rated the current business climate a bit higher than last year, but identified areas needing further attention, particularly in bureaucracy and transparency.
While concerns about economic factors like inflation and currency depreciation were noted, there were signs of progress, including improvements in political stability and the judicial system.
The energy supply situation showed some positive changes, though the tax system continues to be a challenge, with several areas falling below expectations. The labor market also showed positive developments, with salary increases and a better availability of skilled labor.
Looking ahead, foreign investors expressed cautious optimism, not expecting major shifts in the economy but anticipating modest growth in business turnover for the coming year.
