Laufey made her way to the premiere of her concert film on Tuesday night, wearing an ethereal gown to match her style of music.
The musician walked along the red carpet on November 19 at the AMC Theater at The Grove in Los Angeles to celebrate the premiere of her film, Laufey’s A Night at the Symphony: Hollywood Bowl. The movie is the full recording of her showstopping performance at the legendary music venue in her home of Los Angeles. Directed by Sam Wrench, who also brought Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour to the big screen, the movie shows Laufey’s incredible night singing alongside the Los Angeles Philharmonic, along with behind-the-scenes footage about her preparations for the show.
For the occasion, Laufey wore a long flowing, floral dress that was symbolic of her melodic voice. The dress was long-sleeved — perfect for a fall evening — and was made of layers of sheer fabric.
Laufey kept her glam simple and chic, with a glowing base, manicured brows, and a soft pink lip. She let her chocolate brown hair flow loosely down her back and wore simple rings on her fingers.
The singer told Teen Vogue last year that her personal style, or “Laufeycore,” is similar to her music: “So timeless with maybe a little bit of an edge, which is actually maybe a little girly.”
“It’s a lot of classic pieces, vintage jeans, cardigans, a lot of ribbons. For shoes, it’s loafers, Mary Janes, and ballet flats,” she continued.
The Icelandic-Chinese musician caught the eye of many over the last few years after going viral on TikTok during the pandemic for her unique sound and jazz-pop-infused songs. She has since released two studio albums — Everything I Know About Love in 2022 and Bewitched in 2023 — and has gone on world tours for both. Laufey’s Bewitched album secured a Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.
The award-winning musician will sit down for a conversation as well as perform at the 2024 Teen Vogue Summit on Saturday, November 23. Learn more about this year’s event and the full slate of speakers here.
