With winter in full swing this week, you might be thinking of grabbing a book and snuggling up inside for a good read.
You’re in luck too, as the Friends of the High River Public Library Society in High River are putting on another book sale on Friday, Nov. 29 and Saturday, Nov. 30.
Nick Salmon, with the society, says it’s not too late to drop off donations, however, they do need to be in good shape, and they can’t be outdated like textbooks.
“They just don’t sell very well, then they clutter up everything, then our volunteers have to set it all up for it not to go anywhere, take it all down and then find an efficient way of getting it out of the library.”
Salmon also points out that the money raised from the sale goes right back to the library.
“Money raised for the Friends of the High River Public Library Society goes towards helping the library buy some new supplies. We put some money towards that office that the library has set up now. So, you can go there, just sit in that office and get some work done. It’s a nice, quiet room. We also use it for helping with programming, so we have the introduction to the Glowforge now. That Glowforge was purchased with money from the Friends of the High River Public Library Society.”
The Glowforge is the 3-D printer the library now has available to the public.
A list of acceptable and unacceptable books and items has been shared on the library’s website and social media.
