Guwahati, Nov 23: Kaziranga National Park in Assam will serve as the focal point for the 12th edition of the International Tourism Mart (ITM), set to take place from November 26 to 29. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, this event aims to highlight the tourism potential of North East India to both domestic and international visitors.
The ITM will provide a vital platform for tourism businesses, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders from the eight North Eastern states—Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim. It will offer opportunities for networking and business development, fostering growth within the region’s rapidly expanding tourism sector.
Kaziranga, renowned for its UNESCO-listed national park and the iconic one-horned rhinoceros, will be an ideal backdrop for this year’s event. The park’s rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes will underscore the region’s unique tourism offerings.
Around 400 participants, including domestic and international tour operators, hoteliers, influencers, media representatives, and government officials, are expected to attend. The event will feature B2B meetings, panel discussions, cultural performances, food demonstrations, and a North East Bazaar. Attendees will also have the chance to visit key attractions such as Charaideo Moidam, Hathikuli Tea Estate, and the Orchid and Biodiversity Park.
In line with the Ministry’s “Travel for Life” initiative, the ITM will focus on sustainability by implementing eco-friendly practices, including energy-efficient solutions, reducing single-use plastics, and offering shuttle services to minimize environmental impact.
