A partnership between Tourism Fiji and Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) has seen the successful training of 50 local tourism operators through the Adventure EDU program.
Tourism Fiji’s chief executive officer Brent Hill revealed this while giving his speech at the AdventureNEXT FIJI opening event at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa in Sigatoka on Wednesday.
The two-day event will see tourism operators from around the world networking with stakeholders from Fiji’s tourism sector in an effort to market the country as an ideal adventure destination.
“Part of all of you joining us and sharing your expertise and your insights and the plenary sessions that are coming over the next couple of days are incredibly valuable for our operators as we continue to enhance our program for those tourists that Fiji Airways is bringing through,” he said.
He said the program would equip local operators with tools and knowledge to boost the local tourism sector.
“We want to increase the number of Fijian-owned tourism experiences across the country.
“We think that that then leads to enhanced visitor satisfaction, and it drives spending throughout Fiji and adventure tourism means that people will just take a little bit more of Fiji back with them.”
