A BUSINESS organisation serves the New Forest has selected a new chair.
Nick Phillips, who owns and runs Barclay+Phillips Architects near Salisbury, will lead the Executive Association Solent (EAS) into 2025.
Founded in 1989 and celebrating its 35th anniversary in November, the association meets on the third Friday of each month over lunch at Chewton Glen Hotel.
Nick takes the chain of office from Hannah Vincent, owner and managing director of independent travel agency Select World Travel, based in Poole. Katie Young, a director with Bournemouth-based Verulam Advisory, licensed Insolvency practitioners, is vice-chair.
The membership club welcomes representatives of around 30 firms each month, comprising directors, senior executives, business partners and guests, and employing hundreds of people between them.
Members take turns during lunch to share updates, insights and best practice. There are also guest speakers each month, including business leaders, opinion formers, sector specialists and public figures.
New chair Nick told the A&T: “Not only are members doing business with one another, with mutual trust and respect, but the lunches are also a great opportunity to share trends, insights and market intelligence.
“The association is a great sounding board for business owners and senior managers and it is testament to the high regard that the association is held in that we celebrate 35 consecutive years in November.”
The Executive Association Solent traces its roots back to the Executives’ Association, founded in San Francisco, USA, in 1915.
Founded by honorary secretary and treasurer Stuart Percival, a position he holds to this day, the first meeting of the EAS was held at the Chewton Glen Hotel in November 1989, and has been held there every month, apart from every August and during the pandemic.
The next meeting is on Friday, 15th November.
