November the 24th, 2034 – Croatian premium tourism is a segment of the wider tourist offer of the country which provides additional value, it was heard at the Days of Croatian Tourism (Dani Hrvatskog Turizma/DHT).
croatia and the new generation of tourists
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, tourism based on quality and added value content is something the domestic tourism scene needs. The Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) cites the sustainable management of natural resources, the development of a premium offer based on the needs of new generations of tourists, and a highly motivated and educated workforce as key elements for the further development and differentiation of Croatian tourism compared to its competitors.
The seamless blending of architecture and design in the function of a Croatian premium tourism offer was discussed at a panel of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce. That discussion highlighted that architecture defines a given space and that its role must also be to activate the surrounding environment. This means that it should employ the local community, stimulate production, and attract the eye.
croatian premium tourism, natural materials and future-oriented tech
“A premium feeling is given by indigenous natural materials and future-oriented technologies. The very content of a building and its connection to the location can direct guests to culture and history, thus providing added value. Today, premium Croatian tourism doesn’t mean that the hotel is simply beautiful; what is important is the story and the atmosphere it radiates. Health, environmental awareness, and good service. Being special is an imperative part of tourism today, as well as the biggest magnet,” said well known architect Ante Vrban.
The Croatian Chamber of Commerce also celebrated the first hundred members of the premium tourism platform Stories on the terrace of the Kvarner Hotel in Opatija. At the Stories Party, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce’s Tourism Sector presented awards to individuals who have made a key contribution to the development of the platform and the promotion of a premium offer for Croatia.
Among the recipients of the awards were the Minister of Tourism and Sport Tonči Glavina, the Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić, and the former Minister of Tourism, now a Member of the European Parliament, Nikolina Brnjac. Various representatives of the economy were also present, including the Director of Mastercard Croatia, Gea Kariž, and Slaven Žabo, Director of Commercial Affairs at Croatia Airlines.
