Police are investigating a suspect package at a popular UK station.
Met Police confirmed concerns have been raised over an item found at Euston Station. Pictures online show an emergency service presence at the scene.
A spokesperson explained that a cordon has been put in place as a “precaution”. An ambulance car and specialist officers were reported to be at the scene.
Confused passengers took to Twitter and said the station was “evacuated”. One witness said: “Something is going on at Euston Station; it seems like the whole area is cordoned off.”

One woman said: “Just heard a massive explosion near Euston Road. Now the streets are flooded with sirens.” Another person said: “Station at #euston been evacuated and cordens all over the place. Plenty of police and incident support teams. Not quite sure what’s going on.”
The force said: “We’re aware of reports online about an incident in the vicinity of Euston Station. Police cordons are in place as a precaution while officers investigate a suspect package. We will provide further updates on this thread in due course.”
Met Police addressed the frightening sounds heard by locals in the area in an updated statement. The force added: “A controlled explosion has been carried out by specialist officers and the police cordons have now been lifted. Thank you for your patience.”
