On Saturday afternoon, just before 3:00 pm, an incident occurred at Eagle Beach involving a German tourist visiting Aruba on the cruise ship AIDA. The tourist was enjoying his time at Eagle Beach when, after coming out of the water, he suddenly collapsed.
Witnesses described the incident as a blackout. Other tourists nearby immediately stepped in to help, while emergency services were alerted. Initial reports suggested that someone had swallowed a significant amount of water, but upon arrival, paramedics determined this was not the case.
Instead, the man had fainted. The tourist, who was on a short visit to Aruba, received assistance from ambulance personnel, who stabilized him at the scene. Police were also present to assist. The man was transported to the hospital with the hope that he would recover in time to rejoin the cruise ship later that evening.
