The daughter of former President Moon Jae-in was questioned by the police on the weekend over allegations that she unlawfully operated lodging facilities in Seoul’s Yeongdeungpo District.
Woo Jong-soo, head of the National Office of Investigation, told local reporters on Monday that Moon Da-hye was summoned for questioning on Saturday.
The police intend to promptly conduct a supplementary investigation before sending the case to the prosecution.
An official at the agency said Moon Da-hye was cooperative but that further investigation was needed to determine details.
The former president’s daughter is accused of running a lodging business at her studio apartment and multiplex unit in Seoul’s Yeongdeungpo area via the mobile reservation platform Airbnb in June 2021, without registering the business.
On November 15, the Jeju Provincial Police agency sent another case to the prosecution after investigating similar allegations against Moon Da-hye in connection with a home she owns on Jeju Island.
