Former Strictly Come Dancing pro Graziano Di Prima has landed himself a role in a movie, less than a year after being axed from the BBC show. The 30 year old was forced to leave Strictly last year following allegations made against him about his treatment of his 2023 celebrity dancer partner Zara McDermott – it came hot off the heels of Giovanni Pernice’s controversial exit.
The Italian dancer, who appeared on Strictly from 2018 to 2023, will now return to our screens for a new Netflix Christmas film. Combining his acting and dancing skills, Graziano stars alongside Matthew Morrison, Jen Lilley, Jade Ewen and Paul Freeman in A Paris Christmas Waltz.
Graziano took to Instagram on Saturday, 24 November to share his excitement for his move debut. Alongside the trailer for the festive film, he wrote the caption: “I’m so excited to share this amazing news! The film I had the honour to be part of, both as an actor and a dancer, “A Paris Christmas Waltz”, is now officially available on Netflix!
“This is a huge milestone as the movie, originally released on @greatamericanfamily , has now made its way to one of the biggest streaming platforms in the world.”
He continued: “A huge thank you to Michael Damian for making this incredible project possible! Currently, you can watch it on Netflix America, as well as in Belgium and France, and I truly hope it will soon arrive in Italy and the UK.
“Thank you so much for your support, and if it’s already available in your region, don’t miss it!” Some of Graziano’s Strictly pals liked the post, despite his exit from the BBC show last year, including Jowita Przystał and Dianne Buswell.
Fans also flooded the comments to applaud the Italian dancer for securing the movie role. One wrote: “Fantastic! Are there no ends to your talents.”
A second said: “Ahhhh just what I need on a cold day, the sunshine and joy that is the wonderful Graziano.” “So incredibly proud of you,” a third gushed. Another shared: “This is amazing. And congratulations. Good you’ll be back on our screens.” While one more penned: “This is simply stunning, huge congratulations xx.”
For anyone eager to watch the movie in the UK, Netflix has confirmed it will be coming out this Friday (29 November). The movie, A Paris Christmas Waltz, was first released in 2023 and is rated a U.
The description on Netflix reads: “When an accountant and a retired pro dancer pair up for a dance competition in Paris, they must navigate rehearsals, competitors and intense chemistry.”
