After several months of quiet, mainly dry weather, the northeastern United States is entering a more active weather pattern as people get ready to hit the highways and byways for Thanksgiving.

Monday will be a good day for traveling in the eastern U.S. with sunshine and dry weather along with mild temperatures for late November.
Tuesday on the other hand will not be ideal driving weather. Make sure windshield wipers are in good condition if you’re hitting the roads on Tuesday.
A steady rain will move from west to east from Tuesday morning into the early afternoon.
On Wednesday, the northeast will be in between storm systems, allowing a good travel day before Thanksgiving. Expect dry weather and seasonable temperatures on Wednesday.
Thanksgiving is shaping up to be the worst day to travel this week. A stronger area of low pressure develops and moves north across New England during the day.
Expect a soaking rain for Southern New England and potential for plowable snow in northern New England, especially in Vermont, northern New Hampshire, and northern Maine. The Berkshires of western Massachusetts could also see a period of snow or a wintry mix on Thursday depending on the track of the storm.

The area of low pressure that brought rain on Thursday will be moving out, with a colder airmass rushing in behind the departing storm. A gusty wind will make wind chills feel like the 30s for most of the day on Friday, so bundle up as you head out!
