Hollywood A-lister Brad Pitt ‘collapsed’ during his visit to the Las Vegas Grand Prix, whilst shooting for his upcoming Formula 1 feature film ahead of the grand event.
Throughout this season, Pitt has been seen at numerous races capturing scenes in real-time for the high-octane production, which not only boasts involvement from F1 legend and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton as a co-producer but also features rising British talent Damson Idris.
Just after George Russell claimed pole position in the Nevada city, Pitt, embodying his character Sonny Hayes, was spotted by fans on the circuit engaging in intense filming. He portrayed injury following a staged mishap, limped away from the fabricated wreck, and ultimately collapsed onto a strategically placed cushioned mat.

APX GP, the make-believe team fronted by Pitt’s protagonist, went so far as to issue a tongue-in-cheek statement about the incident: “During qualifying, Sonny sustained a significant impact requiring immediate medical evaluation,” they declared.
The fictional announcement continued with an assurance concerning Haydens wellbeing: “Incidents of this magnitude are always taken seriously, and Sonny’s health remains our top priority. While Sonny is otherwise stable, he will not participate in tomorrow’s race as he focuses on recovery,” reports the Mirror.
Concluding the faux press release, it clarified the solidarity within the pretend pit lane crew: “The entire team stands behind him, and we’ll provide updates when available. Joshua [Pearce, played by Idris] will race solo tomorrow, carrying the team forward.”
Under the helm of Joseph Kosinski – whose directing credits include the critically acclaimed Tom Cruise hit ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ the Formula 1 movie also stars renowned names such as Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, and Kim Bodnia.
Hamilton, on the other hand, has been providing guidance to the filmmakers to ensure the film’s authenticity. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer recently confessed that Hamilton’s input has resulted in additional costs due to necessary alterations.
“Everything that he has brought to this movie, I cannot even express our thanks to him and all the folks from F1 who made this all possible,” expressed Bruckheimer. “The authenticity that he brings, we just cannot imagine what goes into what a driver does and what the sport brings to an audience.
“Sometimes we do not like to hear some of the things he says, because it costs us more money to fix things, but we are all in, we want to make it great, and he is certainly helping us.”
