In today’s interconnected world, a strong digital presence is more than a necessity—it’s the gateway to thriving in the global tourism market. Recognizing this, the Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) has partnered with Trove Tourism Developers and Advisors to transform the digital landscapes of its member National Tourism Organizations (NTOs).
Under the New Zealand Government-funded Pacific Digital Tourism Transformation Project (Phase 2), this collaboration marks a significant step forward in SPTO’s mission to empower Pacific NTOs with modern, user-friendly, and accessible digital platforms. Central to this initiative is the Digital Website Upgrade Project, designed to elevate the region’s tourism capabilities by aligning them with cutting-edge digital standards.
Through this partnership, SPTO and Trove will implement strategic upgrades and improvements informed by prior audits and discussions, targeting websites for NTOs in Timor Leste, Nauru, Tonga, Federated States of Micronesia, and the Republic of Marshall Islands.
SPTO Chief Executive Officer Christopher Cocker shared, that for NTOs, websites serve as virtual storefronts showcasing the Pacific’s natural beauty, rich cultures, and diverse experiences to the world. An upgraded website is more than just a design refresh—it ensures a seamless user experience, strengthens connections with global travelers, and provides vital tools to local operators. By enhancing accessibility, usability, and functionality, these upgrades will position Pacific destinations as leaders in the competitive global tourism market.
“We are committed to ensuring the Pacific remains competitive in the evolving digital landscape,” said SPTO CEO Chris Cocker. “This partnership with Trove Tourism Developers and Advisors exemplifies our dedication to advancing regional digital transformation. By improving usability, accessibility, and overall user experience, these upgrades will significantly elevate the online presence of our member NTOs, supporting their vision and objectives.”
Cocker mentioned that SPTO remained dedicated to fostering collaboration and innovation across the Pacific to enhance tourism’s role as a driver of sustainable growth.
