Lilo & Stitch enchanted audiences when it released back in 2002 and now a live-action version of the Disney film has been made.
On Monday, Disney released the first-look teaser of the live-action adaptation and have showed fans what the little blue alien looks like. In the 30-second preview, Stitch can be seen causing destruction as he stomps on sand castles with a beautiful beach backdrop.
Fans have been taking to the comments section on YouTube to share their reactions to the first-look and it looks like they’re all saying the same thing.
One person commented: “I sincerely hope they do the other characters justice because Stitch looks fantastic so far. I adore Stitch and Lilo.”

Another fan expressed: “Stitch being his destructive self is such a nod to how they introduced him originally for the animated movie lol it’s a nice callback! Well done Disney.” Somebody else gushed: “Amazing! Stich looks so cute and fluffy! It’s so good to see the original voice of Stich back with us!”
Yet another said: “He looks really faithful! For once Disney made a good job with CGI designs! Not like that The Lion King remake.” A fifth penned: “I’m usually not a huge fan of the Live action remakes but holy cow this is looking good so far.”
While a sixth added: “The original will always be unbeatable, but live-action Stitch is kinda growing on me.”

The logline for the film reads: “A live-action reimagining of Disney’s 2002 animated classic, Lilo & Stitch is the wildly funny and touching story of a lonely Hawaiian girl and the fugitive alien who helps to mend her broken family.”
Newcome Maia Kealoha plays Lilo in this version and the cast also includes Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen, Sydney Agudong and Kaipo Dudoit.
The original Disney classic released back in 2022 and was huge commercial success, garnering $273.1 million against a $80 million budget. It was also a critical success and was praised for its story, humour, charm and originality amongst other things.
In 2003, a direct-to-video sequel titled Stitch! The Movie was released followed by Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch has a Glitch in 2005 and Leroy & Stitch in 2006.
Lilo & Stitch will release in cinemas on May 23, 2025
