Most of the orange barrels are gone, and the main throughfares are open to traffic through Sandusky’s downtown business district.
Following months of construction, M-46 and M-19, the state highways that run through Sandusky and intersect at the downtown traffic light, are again open to motorists, providing access to businesses hurt by the drop-off in customers who shopped elsewhere rather than deal with street closings, detours, and parking issues.
This Saturday, Nov. 30, the Sandusky Chamber of Commerce invites you to rediscover Sandusky’s restaurants, shops and businesses during the 15th Annual Small Business Saturday. Sixteen businesses are participating in the shopping day with one-day specials.
“Over $750 in local business gift cards will be handed out that day to reward people for coming back to Sandusky now that the roads are beautifully completed and open,” said Lisa Kenny, Sandusky Chamber President.
“It’s been a tough year for many of our businesses, so we bought gift cards from participating businesses with donated funds to bring people back to town, that way everyone comes out ahead.”
The following Sandusky Chamber member businesses will be part of Small Business Saturday: Ace Hardware, Godwin’s Furniture, 3 Cord Ministries Thrift Shop, Sanilac County News, Mint Restaurant, Elk Street Brewery & Taproom, Knead Bakery, Sanilac Florist, Tri-County Equipment, Pearls & Lace, Great Lakes Counseling & Wellness, Ball Equipment, McDonalds Restaurant, Ehardt’s Pharmacy, Rustic Farm Antiques & More, and Thumb Cellular. Most will be open 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. The businesses have specials, which you can learn about by picking up a Shopping Passport at any Sandusky bank or credit union.
