FORT MADISON – The Fort Madison Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the annual “Mistletoe on Main” event, celebrating Small Business Saturday on Nov. 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in downtown Fort Madison.
Mistletoe on Main promises a day filled with festive activities for all ages, encouraging the community to shop local and enjoy the holiday spirit. Highlights of the event include:
• Story Time with Santa: Join us at Old Fort Players (725 Ave G) for classic holiday tales read by Santa himself at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Enjoy hot cocoa and cookies available for a free-will donation. Sponsored by Bent Oak Books & Great River Health
• Mini Highland Cows: Pet, feed, and take photos with adorable Mini Highland Cows from Anderson Ranch at the Connection Bank Parking Lot.
• Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides: Experience the charm of horse-drawn carriage rides, provided by Rose Carriage Service, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., starting at Ninth Street and Avenue G. Sponsored by Jess Sutcliffe State Farm
• Build a Bookmark Craft: Visit participating businesses to collect stickers and decorate your own Christmas tree bookmark. Each location has different pieces, so be sure to visit them all! Participating locations include Dana Bushong Jewelers, Riverside Nutrition, Commons Skate Depot, and Bent Oak Books.
• Christmas Tree Stroll: Stroll through downtown and vote for your favorite decorated Christmas tree. Donations will go towards updating downtown holiday lighting.
• Exclusive Deals and Treats: Over 30 local businesses will offer special treats, discounts, and/or unique holiday deals!
