RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Roofing is largely a seasonal business, and the majority of jobs come during warmer months. According to Yeti Roofing Co-owner Leah Schweppe, shingle work isn’t possible in freezing temperatures.
To keep their business busy with KOTA Territory cooling down, Yeti is offering a new service – Christmas light installation and maintenance. Schweppe says they’re comfortable on roofs and their service allows homeowners to avoid potential safety hazards.
”There’s like 160 ladder accidents that happen each year during Christmas, and we want to prevent that for the homeowner,” Schweppe said. “Also, it gets really cold out here so we don’t want them to have to endure the cold.”
If you do decide to install your own Christmas lights, it’s best to do so in dry conditions with a stable ladder and a spotter.
