The Montana Department of Commerce announces they will award over $1.4 million in funding for tourism-related emergency service projects in the state.
Officials say the funding aims to support rural public and private safety agencies in Montana.
Twenty-six local safety agencies will reportedly share the funds to support tourism-related emergency service projects.
Eligible applicants for the grant include rural incorporated cities or towns, counties, consolidated governments, tribal governments and other entities that provide emergency services or response units to rural areas.
The funding comes from the department’s Montana Emergency Tourism Assistance Grant Program.
The program aims to support services by public or private safety agencies, including law enforcement, firefighting and ambulance or medical services.
