JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Going to see a movie on Thanksgiving is a tradition for some and for others, it is something new.
Capri Theatre in Fondren had its premiere night last Thursday. Do not fret though because even if you missed opening weekend, the movie will still be showing at Capri for at least two more weeks. There are two shows for Thanksgiving night.
Todd Glass, Fondren Block’s General Manager, said they have two show times on Thanksgiving: 6:15 p.m. and 9:25 p.m.
“We anticipate a busy week,” said Glass. “We’re fully staffed, so we’re ready.”
Capri Theatre offers special Wicked treats including a Wicked backdrop to take pictures, a Wicked-themed drink menu, and their regular concession menu.
Some students spent part of their holiday break seeing Wicked. Some friends, like Hallie Sessums and Jessica Wood, attended as a friendship reunion.
“I came into town from Colorado, and we were kind of thinking about seeing this movie but weren’t really sure because we’re kind of crunched on time,” said Wood. “But we just went to go eat at Aplos and our waiter said that this movie is so good.”
Even if you do not see the movie on Thanksgiving, you still have plenty of showtimes you can make over the next few weeks.
