Introvert Book Club
Want to join a book club but just don’t have the time for a regular meeting? This is the book club for you! Each month there’s a new book selection, but there’s never a meeting. Copies of the book are available at the Information desk. The December book selection is “The Santa Suit” by Mary Kay Andrews.
Gory Stories Book Club

Do you love true crime? Join our monthly Gory Stories Book Club! Bring your lunch and join other true crime addicts to discuss a new book each month and share our favorite books, podcasts & documentaries! Copies of the book can be picked up at the library information desk. The December book selection is “All That Remains” by Sue Black.
Library Late Open

The Newton Public Library will be closed the morning of Dec. 6 for a staff event. The library will open to the public at 1 p.m.
Holiday Paint-Along Class

Join local artist, Kirsten Warrick for an acrylic paint-along class! Attendees are encouraged to bring an apron; all other materials will be provided. Registration opens Dec. 2. Call the library at 641-792-4108 to register. Ages 18+

Holiday Décor Swap: Thursday, Dec. 12, 5 – 6:30 p.m.
Refresh your seasonal decor at our Holiday Decor & Ornament Swap! Drop off your holiday indoor decor and ornaments at the library Dec. 5 – 11, and receive an event ticket to attend the swap on Dec. 12. Donations may include small indoor decor, ornaments, and winter or holiday-themed housewares. Items should be clean and in great condition. We cannot accept lawn decorations or Christmas trees. Photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus
Thursday, Dec. 12, 5 – 7 p.m.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be taking photos in our Holiday Photo Booth on Thursday, Dec. 12 from 5 – 7 p.m. We’ll provide the free photo booth; you bring your phone or camera! Children in attendance will receive a gently used holiday book to keep (while supplies last).
