From November 27-29, 2024, the IV Young Scientists Congress took place in Sochi at the “Sirius” federal territory under the main theme “Priorities of Scientific and Technological Development: Creating the Future Today.” A delegation from Turkmenistan attended the congress, which is the largest platform for dialogue between cutting-edge and fundamental science, government authorities, and the real economy sector, setting the main vectors for scientific and technological development.
Begench Halnepesov, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan, shared who represented our country at this major scientific forum.
Turkmen participants had the opportunity to share their developments and ideas with peers at the Young Scientists Congress, which brings together researchers, educators, students, and schoolchildren—winners of various competitions from Russia and dozens of other countries. These Turkmen participants included Kadyr Amanov, a lecturer from Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov and Head of the Technology Transfer Department; student Davut Dovletov from the same university; and two young lecturers from the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev, Mahmut Haidarov and Rakhym Girmaev, who specialize in geology and the development and operation of oil and gas fields.
Begench Halnepesov reminded that Davut Dovletov, a student at Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov, recently won an international competition for the title of “Best Student of Turkic Peoples.” Sharing his impressions of the IV Young Scientists Congress in Sochi, he said: “For me, as a student at Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov, this forum showed that we should not fear artificial intelligence; instead, we should collaborate with it for the benefit of the planet. Meeting young scientists from all over Russia opened new horizons of development for me and gave me several ideas for improving scientific work in ecology and agriculture. It was a great honor not only to be here but also to build relationships with contemporary innovators. I was most impressed by the scientific work of a 14-year-old who grew worms that consume plastic. This approach has a future.”
Young scientists from Turkmenistan participated in the business, exhibition and cultural programs of the Congress. The business program traditionally includes round tables, expert sessions, panel discussions and events in various interactive formats. An exhibition showcasing scientific achievements from all regions of Russia was also organized at the Congress. The event became a platform for presenting the latest achievements in fields such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, energy-efficient technologies, and others.
