Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are everywhere. They’re on our televisions for NFL Sunday. They’re swooning over one another in viral clips from The Eras Tour. They’re stepping out for dinner in paparazzi photos splashed across the internet.
But it’s not enough! It’s never enough! Now, the pair’s romance is getting the Hollywood treatment for a new Lifetime movie, and another on Hallmark that tells a different love story but features Kelce’s mother Donna in a cameo role.
So, why can’t we look away from this love story? Maybe it’s the desire to lean into the time-honored tradition of a jock-centric rom-com trope, or maybe it’s the power of sports and pop royalty forming an unlikely alliance.
The Kelces are the new royal familyof media. How they’re taking over – and where to watch
The movies represent a desire to imagine the actual contours of a relationship that most people can only catch glimpses of. The real story may later be read between the lines of whatever album Swift drops next but, for now, fans will have to depend on the writers at Lifetime (and perhaps Hallmark, loosely) to spin a story in place of the real one we all wish we knew.

Here’s what to know about the films.
‘Christmas in the Spotlight’ Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce movie
While the movie was inspired by Kelce and Swift, it’s not a strict interpretation. The film follows the love story of pop star Bowyn Sykes and Drew “Gonzo” Gonville, a wide receiver for the fictional Bay Spring Bombers. Notably, Kelce is a tight end, not a wide receiver.
Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’book is a Target exclusive: Here’s how to get one
There are several Easter eggs throughout the film referencing Swift’s lyrics, and the plot is unmistakably meant to riff on the real-life romance that has captivated football fans and Swifties alike.
In response to early criticisms of the movie concept, Eirene Tran Donohue, who plays Sykes told USA TODAY, “I think this movie works just as a Christmas romcom. I think that Swifties will enjoy it and understand that it was made with love and that it is not an attack on her and it’s not trying to be exploitative.”
How to watch: The movie already premiered, so viewers can now find it on any streaming service that carries Lifetime including DirecTV Stream and Philo.
Donna Kelce’s ‘Holiday Touchdown’ Hallmark movie
The film tells the story of a Chief’s superfan falling in love with the director of fan engagement for the Kansas City team. While the desire to make a quick connection to the Tay-vis story that has catapulted the Chiefs to total pop-culture dominance, the movie does not reference their romance.
Asked during an appearance on “The Today Show” whether Swift planned to watch the film Donna Kelce said, “I don’t know, that’s a good question.”
How to watch: “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story” is set to debut at 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. CT) on Nov. 30, 2024 on The Hallmark Channel.
What the actual Taylor and Travis are doing
Kelce and Swift − the real ones − are still very much attending to their pop star, football player agendas.
Kelce and the Chiefs will play an afternoon game today against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Chiefs, who were crowned Super Bowl champs last year, have already clocked an impressive season with a 10-1 record.
Swift’s attendance remains a tossup as she just wrapped a series of shows in Toronto for the Eras Tour which is in its final stretch. The concert, which has become a cultural phenomenon, boosting entire economies when it comes to town will wind down at the beginning of December.
