Two tourists who became lost while hiking in north Queensland have been found during a search and rescue mission.
The man and woman, from Spain, called emergency services about 9am on Sunday from Cape Hillsborough National Park, north of Mackay, where they were bushwalking.
A large-scale search operation involving police, SES and a rescue helicopter began.
Police said there were grave concerns for the tourists’ welfare due to the rugged terrain and unfavourable weather conditions.

About 1:30pm on Sunday, the pair was located by the CQ Rescue Helicopter Service.
“Our crew had eyes on them and notified emergency services on the ground of their location,” a CQ Rescue Helicopter spokesperson said.
The Queensland Ambulance Service says both of the tourists are well and were treated on scene by paramedics.
The pair was left in the care of police.
Cape Hillsborough is located about 50 kilometres north of Mackay and is popular for its walking tracks.
