Director and producer Atlee, who is expecting the release of the Hindi film Baby John under his production banner, recently unveiled that he will be backing a Tamil film featuring Vijay Sethupathi. The filmmaker did not divulge much details about the project.

Vijay Sethupathi played the antagonist opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the Hindi film Jawaan, directed by Atlee. Following this, looks like the actor will once again join hands with Atlee and do a film under the latter’s production.

During the promotions of Varun Dhawan’s Baby John, which is being produced by Atlee, the director confirmed his collaboration with Vijay Sethupathi. “The film is in early stages of production, and will be expected to go on floors soon. It is a fantastic film and we have been working on this project for the last two years. It is with Vijay Sethupathi sir,” Atlee revealed in an interview with Pinkvilla. Further details on the project have not yet been revealed, with an official announcement on the cards soon. As per reports, Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom fame Balaji Tharaneetharan is set to helm the project.
Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi is currently expecting the release of his Tamil film Viduthalai- Part 2 with director Vetrimaaran. The film is scheduled to hit big screens on December 20.
Is Atlee’s Baby John remake of Theri?

Atlee has produced the Hindi film, Baby John, starring Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, and Wamiqa Gabbi. The film is slated for release on December 25 for Christmas. Besides them, the film will also feature a cameo appearance by Salman Khan, with Zara Zyanna and Jackie Shroff playing prominent roles.
As per reports, the film is touted to be the remake of Atlee’s Tamil film Theri, starring Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Amy Jackson. Varun Dhawan had clarified that Baby John is not a remake but an adaptation with major changes and that it will not be a frame-by-frame remake of the Vijay-starrer.
