With the deadline fast approaching it really is time to get nominating in the third annual Fenland Citizen Business Awards brought to you by Iliffe Media – publishers of The Citizen.
Nominations are set to close at 5pm on January 3 so if you want your business to be in the running for one of the 10 prestigious awards up for grabs then now is the time to act.
The categories cover everything from customer care to agriculture and environment.
The winners will be announced at a glittering evening on Friday, March 14, 2025 at March Braza Club in Elm Road – the perfect venue for these awards which are part of our commitment to supporting and celebrating local businesses.
This prestigious event brings decision-makers and business leaders together from across the area to celebrate business success and innovation.
The Fenland Citizen Business Awards showcase business achievements across 10 categories, chosen to give businesses, individuals, and charities the chance to tell their success stories.
Among these is the Agriculture and Environment Champion sponsored by Fraser Dawbarns LLP.
Last year this award was won by Goldstar Metal Traders Ltd in 2024 so the question is who will follow in their footsteps?
Agribusiness is integral to Fenland’s thriving business community, with the region’s famously low-lying and fertile soils creating ideal growing conditions for crops and businesses alike.
This award will go to a business that demonstrates excellence in this sector, so if you have a business that fits this criteria then why not enter, after all you have to be in it to win it.
The headline sponsor of the Business Awards is once again the top accountancy firm Whitings LLP, with the event being organised by the Fenland Citizen.
Categories carrying awards for 2025 are Best Social Enterprise (sponsored by Clarion Futures); Best New Start-Up (sponsored by Goldstar Metal Traders); Customer Care; Businessperson of the Year (sponsored by Mapus-Smith and Lemmon); Agriculture and Environment Champion (sponsored by Fraser Dawbarns), Retail and Hospitality (sponsored by Fenmarc), Business of the Year, Business Innovation and Team of the Year (both sponsored by Nestle Purina) and Employer of the Year.

All the information on each category’s criteria can be found here too.
Once the deadline for entries has passed the judges will start the difficult task of choosing three finalists in each category. These will be announced in the Fenland Citizen with the finalists being notified via email.
Once announced our judges will then arrange to interview each finalist in their place of business.
Then it will be fingers crossed until the winners are announced at the live event on March 14.
