FICCI and ONDC have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the digital experience in the travel, tourism, and hospitality sectors. Through this collaboration, FICCI will work closely with industry stakeholders, including travel companies, tour operators, and hospitality providers, to promote digital e-commerce powered by ONDC’s network. Additionally, FICCI will engage with central and state governments to extend consumer and supply pipelines to remote areas, leveraging increased internet penetration and emerging technologies.
As part of the initiative, FICCI will host seminars, conferences, and knowledge-sharing platforms to raise awareness about ONDC’s digital infrastructure. These efforts will include capacity-building programs aimed at enhancing digital skills across the ecosystem. FICCI will also support promotional and marketing campaigns to drive the adoption of ONDC’s network, strengthening the positioning of Indian products in both domestic and international markets, in alignment with ONDC’s strategies. This partnership seeks to complement national tourism objectives while advancing ONDC’s goals.
Dipak Deva, Chairperson, FICCI Tourism & Culture Committee and Managing Director, Travel Corporation India said, “The MoU between FICCI and ONDC opens up new avenues for digital adoption in the travel, tourist & hospitality industries to work together to close the digital divide and support national plans for a sector prepared for the future. By developing knowledge sharing platforms to support small and medium sized businesses, FICCI and ONDC are spearheading the digital transformation of the tourism industry. In addition to promoting expansion, this collaboration guarantees a more effective and convenient travel experience for all.”
T. Koshy, MD & CEO, ONDC said, “As ONDC and FICCI sign this MoU, I am happy to see the benefits of digitisation further getting percolated to the grassroots of travel industry. ONDC has always stood for digital inclusion and level playing field for all stakeholders and this is a step in that direction. This is also opening another big category on ONDC Network – travel, after the recent launch and success of ride hailing and metro ticketing services being available on the Network.”
Through this collaboration, FICCI will work with industry stakeholders, including travel companies, tour operators & hospitality providers, to promote digital e-commerce powered by ONDC’s network.
