There are so many great new movies arriving to digital this week. Among them are Sean Baker’s critically acclaimed Anora, starring newcomer Mikey Madison, as well as Cillian Murphy in Small Things Like These.
The Korean thriller Sleep also arrived on demand this week if you’re in the mood for some night terrors. The film stars Lee Sun-kyun – who also starred in Parasite, in a posthumous role filmed before his 2023 death – and Jung Yu-mi as newlyweds Hyun-su and Soo-jin whose marriage is tested when Hyun-su starts talking in his sleep and behaving in ways he can neither explain nor remember the next day.

Anora, which happens to be high on our list of the best movies of 2024, arrives to digital this week just in time for the holidays. The Sean Baker film about a Brooklyn sex worker named Ani (Mikey Madison, in a career-making performance) who falls for the wealthy Russian man she’s being paid to escort. After a whirlwind wedding, the Cinderella story takes a turn when she finds herself in the midst of some wild rich-people-s—t. The film is now available for purchase on VOD.
Cillian Murphy stars in Small Things Like These, a drama about the horrors of Ireland’s Magdalene Laundries, the secretive asylums that housed thousands of young women, most of them sex workers or unwed expectant mothers, who endured abuse and inhumane living conditions under the watch of Roman Catholic nuns. (The recent Showtime series The Woman in the Wall starring Ruth Wilson covered the same territory.). The new film, based on the book by Claire Keegan, arrived on demand this week.
