The US Virgin Islands has nabbed four awards in this year’s Caribbean Travel Awards.
St Croix claimed the title of Caribbean Culinary Destination, earning praise for its vibrant restaurant scene.
In the maritime category, the US Virgin Islands was named Caribbean Yachting Destination of the Year.
The territory also secured Event Destination of the Year.
Adding to the territory’s accolades, local restaurateur Chef David ‘Benji’ Benjamin, owner of St Thomas establishments Blue Eleven and Indigo 4, was named Caribbean Chef of the Year for his innovative approach to modern Caribbean cuisine.
Tourism Commissioner Joseph Boschulte welcomed the recognition from Caribbean Journal, stating, “This recognition from Caribbean Journal further reinforces the success of our continued efforts to spotlight the territory and all that we have to offer as one of the premier Caribbean destinations. As we look to 2025, we aim, together with our partners from across St Croix, St John, and St Thomas, to continue to grow, spotlight, and represent this beautiful place we call home and welcome the world to our shores to fall ‘Naturally in Rhythm’ the Virgin Islands way.”
The Caribbean Travel Awards, now in its 11th year, evaluates excellence across 36 categories in Caribbean tourism, with winners selected by leading experts in Caribbean travel.
