The list was followed by the likes of Conclave, The Piano Lesson, The Promised Land, The Seed of the Sacred Fig, Dune: Part Two, Anora, DIDI, Sugarcane, and A Complete Unknown. “Here are a few movies I’d recommend checking out this year,” Obama wrote.
After a shoutout from Barack Obama, netizens slammed FFI for choosing Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies over All We Imagine As Light as India’s official entry for the Oscars in the Best International Feature category, which ultimately failed to make the cut.
All We Imagine As Light features Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam and Hridhu Haroon in prominent roles. The film has also bagged a nomination for the Best Motion Picture for a Non-English Language at the Golden Globes.
