Millie Bobby Brown has said that she is “nowhere near ready to leave” Stranger Things as filming the show’s final episode comes to an end.
The 20-year-old actress took to her Instagram page on Friday to share an emotional video after she choked back tears while thanking the cast and crew of the hit Netflix series. Millie posted a montage of moments from her time on the show, which saw her make her debut, aged 12, playing Eleven.
Through tears on the final day of filming, Millie said on the clip: “Isn’t graduation supposed to bring relief? Like you’re glad to leave behind the teachers and classmates. Not me. I am nowhere near ready to leave you guys. I love each and every one of you and I will forever carry the memories and bonds we created together as a family. I love you, thank you.”

Filming for the final series, season five, began in January and came to a close as the year reaches its end. Stranger Things will return to Netflix during 2025 but a date has not been shared as yet. Marking the end of filming, Millie also shared photos from her time on the hit show, captioning the carousel of pics: “with love, el.”
In an interview with ComingSoon in February, Millie admitted that there was some sadness on set as they began filming the final series. She said: “It does feel sad. Every day we go on set, we’re like, it is the last second day, the last third day. But we’re definitely embracing it all.”

Away from Stranger Things, Millie has seen romance blossom with Jake Bongiovi, the 22-year-old son of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, who she married in a small ceremony in May, after two years of dating. This has given her happiness in her personal life and let her start looking beyond Stranger Things.
In March she told CBR: “I’m definitely ready to wrap up. I feel like there’s a lot of the story that’s been told now… I’m able to create stories myself that are important to me and focus on the bigger picture.”
Fans of Millie are in for a treat next year as she will be starring in what Netflix has said is its most expensive movie they’ve ever made. The Electric State, which also stars Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci and more, took seven years to make and is directed by the highly-rated Russo Brothers – who are known for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
The film took seven years to make and cost $320 million and is an adaptation of Simon Stålenhag’s 2018 graphic novel of the same name. Despite there not being many details about the movie, it is known that Millie takes on the role of an orphaned teenager, called Michelle, who travels across the American West looking for her younger brother.
