After seeing a dip of almost 25% from its massive weekend collections on Monday. Unni Mukundan’s Marco saw further fall on December 24 – grossing just Rs 3.65 Cr, its lowest day-wise collection so far. Makers of the film, however, won’t be worried as this was on expected lines, given that’s it’s a weekday.
Marco’s total gross from Indian markets now stands at Rs 21.70 Cr after Day 5 early estimates, while its total worldwide collection is around Rs 40 Cr.

Marco Day 5 worldwide collection reveals interesting trend
Further look at these box office figures, reveal an interesting trend – something that Malayalam cinema has been trying pre-pandemic. Both the overseas and domestic gross are progressing at a steady rate. There’s not much difference between the collection of the two markets. Again, this is to be expected for a successful film, given that Marco has been released in Europe, Middle East and Australia. But it’s still a huge surprise because the film is rated A for its violence.
Even though Marco’s box office collection has slowed down the past two days, it’s expected to pick up this week, during the holidays. The Unni Mukundan film, directed by Haneef Adeni, is set to break into the Rs 50 Cr club in the next two days. Marco’s Telugu version is also set to hit theatres in January 1, 2025.

Marco’s stiffest competition awaits with Barroz release
Day 6 will also see Marco’s biggest competition since its release – with the film going against Mohanlal’s Barroz, which will hit theatres on December 25. The family audience will prefer Mohanlal’s 3D children’s fantasy film, if it gets decent response. Barroz has already done advance bookings close to Rs 1 Cr in the domestic market, and with the other films such as Extra Decent and Mufasa not quite holding their ground, the movie could benefit further.
