Draft Our Daughters?

Date: June 26, 2024 Host: Jim Schneider Guest: Elaine Donnelly MP3 | Order

Elaine Donnelly is president of the Center for Military Readiness, an independent, nonpartisan public policy organization that reports on and analyzes military/social issues.  Since its founding in 1993, CMR has advocated for high, uncompromised standards in all forms of military training and sound priorities in the making of military/social policies.  Elaine has published articles on military personnel issues in numerous newspapers and magazines nationwide.

Under consideration in Congress is the National Defense Authorization Act for 2025 (NDAA).  A number of positive initiatives are part of the House version.  However, the Senate version comes with a very controversial mandate.  It would require that for the first time in U.S. history, young women would be required to register with selective service for a possible future draft.

Elaine began by commenting on the state of readiness within our military, how women play into the solution and the mindset behind it.  She indicated that although retention has been holding steady, we’ve had a recruiting crisis taking place for several years.  With so many trouble-spots in the world, she’s not confident that the current administration understands how serious these threats are.  Plus, they are misdirecting millions of dollars of resources to “woke” priorities and actually alienating people.

One example she gave was that of Critical Race Theory (CRT).  She believes that the more we teach CRT, both in civilian schools and the military, it only makes the recruiting crisis much worse, therefore she sees our all-volunteer force as being very much at risk.

Another factor is Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policies.  Elaine noted that our military works to bring in more individuals that are from “under-served communities” (minorities).  The level of such individuals in the military has gone up.  She’s fine with that but at the same time she sees the recruiting crisis being due to the lack of emphasis on bringing in white males who traditionally have been the backbone of the all-volunteer force.  This means more qualified individuals are often overlooked due to the fact that the Department of Defense sees diversity as a strategic imperative.  In other words, the DOD believes they must be able to discriminate on the basis of race.

Since the DOD believes diversity is a strategic imperative, that “diversity” includes your daughters and they want them to be part of their future military/war plans.  Learn more, and hear how listeners responded, when you review this important edition of Crosstalk.

World Affairs Overview

Date: June 25, 2024 Host: Jim Schneider Guest: Alex Newman MP3 | Order

The world is definitely in turmoil.  Russia, North Korea, Iran and China are a handful of nations that aren’t just problematic, they’re forming alliances that should be a wake-up call to this world.  On the other hand, in some nations, people are rising up and signaling that they no longer want to go in a certain direction any longer.

To address these trends, Crosstalk welcomed back Alex Newman.  Alex is an award-winning international freelance journalist, author, researcher, educator and consultant.  He’s senior editor for The New American.  He is co-author of Crimes of the Educators, author of  Deep State: The Invisible Government Behind the Scenes and author of, Indoctrinating Our Children to Death.  He is founder of Liberty Sentinel.

In this survey of world affairs, Alex focused on the following:

Russia—Their alliance building and a warning from a former Soviet defector.

China—Is their government system the model for an eventual new world order?

China and Taiwan—Is a war between these two nations imminent?

What responsibility do we have to nations like Ukraine and Taiwan?

More nations are beginning to recognize a Palestinian state.  Is this the answer to peace in the Middle East?

Why Argentina is a model for reform for other nations.

The European parliamentary elections.

The impact of the new prime minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni.

The impact of Mexico’s first female president.

Will we be able to trust the results of the next election?

These points and more were covered while listeners wrapped up the broadcast.

Dobbs Decision:  2 Years Later

Date: June 24, 2024 Host: Jim Schneider Guest: Rev. Jim Harden MP3 | Order

Reverend Jim Harden is president and CEO of CompassCare Pregnancy Services in New York.  His own center was targeted by abortion terrorism.

Two years ago today, the U.S. Supreme Court released their decision in the case known as Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.  This reversed the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.  You may recall that when the Dobbs decision was initially leaked, pro-life and pro-family agencies were targeted with firebombs and other forms of violence.  One of those targeted was CompassCare Pregnancy Services in Buffalo, New York.

Reverend Harden clarified a very important point up front.  He noted that the Dobbs decision did not make abortion illegal.  It simply gave the states the right to regulate the procedures.  It also galvanized pro-abortion extremists to their cause.  The result was that at least 500 pro-life entities were attacked.  There was also the weaponization of legislation whereby blue states passed legislation to regulate and/or outlaw certain aspects of pro-life pregnancy care work.

All of this points to the fact that the battle over life is intensifying.  So as you review this broadcast you’ll hear about the pro-abortion propaganda effort, the medical malpractice of the abortion industry and the death it’s causing, the status of the firebombing incident at CompassCare in New York, the hoarding of Mifepristone by Democrat governors and so much more.

Biden Amnesty Infuriates Border Security

Date: June 20, 2024 Host: Jim Schneider Guest: Mark Krikorian MP3 | Order

Mark Krikorian is a nationally recognized expert on immigration issues serving as the executive director of Center for Immigration Studies.  They are an independent, non-partisan research organization examining and critiquing the impact of immigration on the United States.  He has testified numerous times before Congress and has published articles in many outlets.

Mark began by communicating that the border control executive order is trying to limit the use of asylum claims as a gimmick to enter and then be released into the U.S.  What the executive order actually does is to allow the government to not accept any asylum claims from those crossing the border illegally but only if the level of illegal crossings reaches 2,500 per day.  In other words, this is the acceptable “floor” for illegal immigration.  Mark described it as being the same as the big city district attorneys who say if you only shoplift $1,000 worth of items, that’s OK, you won’t be prosecuted.

The numbers are currently down at the borders.  That’s to be expected because any time a new border policy comes through, smugglers and prospective illegal aliens step back to look and see what this new policy is all about.  Once they find out it’s really “smoke and mirrors”, the numbers will go right back up.  So Mark believes this is a political stunt designed to give the impression of serious border patrol without increasing the anger too much from the anti-border constituency.

Other points are discussed as well including the CBT-1 app.  This allows people to schedule their illegal immigration while allowing others from 4 specific countries to skip the border altogether and fly into the U.S.  Mark explains the impact these things may have on perception management as well as the upcoming election.  After all, some are wondering if this is all about gathering votes.

Hear it all, including feedback from listeners, on this edition of Crosstalk.
