A book shop franchise has announced the launch of a festival in the heart of the city.
Waterstones is celebrating creativity and inspiring young readers with its first ever Children’s Book Festival set to come to Lincoln from Friday, February 14 to Sunday, February16.
Featuring author events, comic and writing workshops, storytelling, craft activities and character costume appearances, the festival hopes to highlight the joys of reading, writing and drawing in venues throughout the city such as The Engine Room, Southside, Lincoln Library and Waterstones.
Kate Melton, bookshop manager at Waterstones in Lincoln, said: “We are immensely proud that Lincoln has been chosen to host the first-ever Waterstones Children’s Book Festival.
“This wonderful opportunity to celebrate creativity and inspire young readers is a testament to Lincoln’s vibrant high street and our community’s love of books.”
The festival will also see free events become available to schools.
Additionally a range of authors and illustrators such as Jamie Smart, Ramzee, Jaqueline Wilson, Sue Hendra, Serena Patel and Alice Oseman will continue the celebration.
