Gary Oldman has revealed he’s currently in the midst of shooting the next season of Slow Horses.
The Apple TV+ spy thriller, which debuted on the streaming service in 2022, is flying at a seemingly unstoppable pace into its six season. That’s despite the final episode of season four coming out just a few months ago on October 9, 2024.
In an interview with Extra TV at the Golden Globes, Oldman confirmed of upcoming Slow Horses seasons, “five is coming out and then we’re in the middle of six.”
In the show, the veteran British actor plays Jackson Lamb, the grizzled boss of dysfunctional former MI5 agents who helps defend the UK – and indeed the world – against sinister forces. These range from fringe political groups to fully fledged terrorists.
Oldman stars alongside Jack Lowden as River Cartwright, Kristin Scott Thomas as Diana Taverner, and Sophie Okonedo as Ingrid Tearney.
It’s not the first news we’ve had of Slow Horses season 6. Apple officially confirmed it back in fall 2024 following the climax of season 4. Before then, however, comes season 5, which still doesn’t yet have a release date.
Slow Horses is based on the novels by Mick Herron, with each season adapting a different one of his 13 total stories. Season 2 adapted Dead Lions, season 3 adapted Real Tigers, and season 4 adapted Spook Street.
