State Administration Council Member General Nyo Saw attended the Myanmar-Belarus Business Forum in Yangon yesterday.
It was attended by Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr Kan Zaw, Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn, Belarusian Foreign Affairs Minister Mr Maxim Ryzhenkov, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, UMFCCI President U Aye Win, departmental officials and businesspersons of two countries.
First, the General highlighted the bilateral cooperation after the establishment of diplomatic relations, further cooperation in trade, investment and special economic zones, the signing of an agreement on the promotion and protection of investment between the two countries and efforts of the two governments to facilitate the businesses. Then, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus mentioned the Belarusian business people who came along with him talked about the opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the economy and expressed his willingness to start the businesses soon through communication with Myanmar businesspersons. The two sides also discussed the export of Myanmar products, business opportunities and cooperation in fertilizer, car production, medicine, higher education and maritime products.
After the forum, the two leaders exchanged gifts and attended the lunch hosted by UMFCCI.
The forum also focused on sectors of fertilizer, milk and dairy product, healthcare service, medicine production, agriculture, livestock and veterinary medicine production and foodstuffs. — MNA/KTZH
