The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) in La Union has embraced digital transformation with the launch of the GSIS 360 Digital Business Centre. This initiative is set to enhance services for 26,485 members and 10,730 pensioners across La Union and Abra, providing more efficient and accessible options.
The facility, inaugurated on the first working day of 2025, represents GSIS’s shift from manual processes to streamlined, technology-driven operations. This transformation ensures greater convenience and inclusivity for its stakeholders.
It also reflects GSIS’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions that align with global digital standards, ensuring members and pensioners enjoy modern, secure, and user-friendly service platforms.
Furthermore, GSIS aims to foster a culture of digital literacy among its members to maximise the benefits of these new technologies. This will ensure equitable access and usability for all users across all segments of society.
The GSIS 360 Digital Business Centre enables members and pensioners to perform a variety of transactions online. They can access membership, loan, claim, pension records, and insurance policies.
Loan applications can be submitted and tentative amounts calculated, with loan statuses easily tracked. Life and retirement claims can also be filed online, complete with tentative computations. Members receive updates on premium and loan payments, while pensioners can schedule or complete their Annual Pensioners Information Revalidation (APIR) through facial authentication using GSIS 360-GTouch.
Additionally, members can locate the nearest GSIS office, learn about GSIS processes through the Citizens Charter, replace their physical UMID card with a digital ID feature, and stay informed with the latest updates from GSIS News.
This user-friendly approach ensures members and pensioners can conveniently access services, enhancing the overall experience. The rollout in La Union is part of a broader initiative to establish GSIS 360 Digital Business Centres in every branch nationwide.
Additionally, the services can be accessed through the GSIS Touch app, available on Google Play and the Apple App Store, enabling members to manage transactions anytime, anywhere. The app’s intuitive design further simplifies processes, making it especially helpful for those less familiar with digital platforms.
GSIS also plans to conduct outreach programmes to train users in effectively navigating its digital tools.
The digitised APIR process allows pensioners to renew their status during their birth month either online or at GSIS branches. This innovation eliminates the need for extensive travel, particularly benefitting senior citizens.
Joven Parayno, Division Chief of Billing, Collection, and Reconciliation, emphasised the significance of this development, “This initiative transitions from traditional manual processes to a seamless digital experience, empowering members and pensioners to manage their transactions efficiently.”
He added that integrating digital solutions improves efficiency and ensures secure, convenient access for stakeholders. On-site assistance is also available at the GSIS 360 Digital Business Centre to help users navigate the new system.
GSIS member and government employee Diosdado Guron, Jr., shared his experience: “Before, I had to take time off work to visit the GSIS office for my transactions. Now, I can apply for a loan or check my membership records online. It’s so convenient, and it has saved me a lot of time.”
A pensioner expressed that the online APIR option allows her to complete the process from the comfort of her home, which is a significant convenience for senior citizens.
Angelica Gatchallan, Branch Information Officer, highlighted the broader vision, “Our goal is to make GSIS services more convenient, inclusive, and efficient for all our stakeholders. GSIS 360 is a testament to our commitment to modernisation and ensuring that we meet the evolving needs of our members and pensioners.”
GSIS encourages members, pensioners, and partner agencies to explore the GSIS 360 Digital Business Centre and its features, reaffirming its commitment to quality public service through technology.
