John M. Glionna, who spent more than two decades with the Los Angeles Times and is now a freelance journalist, comes to Books Inc. Palo Alto to discuss his book “No Friday Night Lights: Reservation Football on the Edge of America,” in conversation with photojournalist and filmmaker Randi Lynn Beach.
The book chronicles a rural Nevada high school football team, struggling to recruit enough players because of the decreasing population of the Fort McDermitt Indian Reservation, with Glionna offering insights into local life thanks to his observations and conversations with players, coaches, families and community members.
