The city of Bentonville saw around 6 inches of snow Thursday night into Friday morning. The snow forced several businesses along the Bentonville Square to close on Friday and open late Saturday. “It’s not often that we wake up to 6 inches of snow,” Strider Bentonville general manager Nicole Dougan said. “That was a no-brainer to close the store.”Dougan kept Strider closed Friday and opened an hour late Saturday morning. “Weather is a big determining factor as to the number of people who are out,” Dougan said. With the snow quickly melting, the foot traffic on the square was returning to normal Sunday. “It was sunny and warm the next day, and it was gone, so it was minimal impact on business and life,” Dougan said.
