Love Island All Stars is returning on January 13 and one face fans are surprised to see on the line up is Scott Thomas.
The 36-year-old revealed in a new Instagram post his reasoning for returning to the villa is to “show the new version of me” as he has been on a massive spiritual journey over the past few years.
The Manchester lad first appeared on the show back in 2016, coming third place with Kady McDermott.
The pair were known for Kady’s fiery personality, which often resulted in many explosive arguments between them. After leaving the villa the couple moved in together, appearing on red carpets and attending frequent date nights.
However a year after leaving the show, the couple broke up, allegedly due to Scott’s party boy habits.
Now, Scott has been on a sobriety journey since 2020, first attempting to go 12 months sober and then later completely cutting off alcohol.
Speaking to the Boots podcast Taboo Talks, Scott revealed the moment he decided to go sober: “I’d been out the night before to take the wind out of my sails and wasn’t all pent up. It was all calculated.
“But I woke up late and was pretty much half-cooked when I turned up to this Chairman’s Luncheon. I ended up getting escorted out just for being so drunk. I woke up the next day and my team knew all about it, my business partner wouldn’t speak to me, I nearly lost my biggest client and I just knew this couldn’t go on anymore.”
Since quitting alcohol, Scott has constantly spoken out on social media about his sobriety journey, updating his followers every step of the way, the good and the bad days.
The star celebrated two years sober at the end of last year, saying: “All I know is despite how hard this journey has been at times it’s allowed me to discover who the authentic Scott is again and there is no better feeling.”
Additionally since leaving the villa, Scott has created a very successful PR company, The Social PR, which is a creative agency that claims to “reinvent PR through experiential marketing & talent management”. The agency manages influencers from the greater Manchester area, as well as former Love Island stars.
The ex Love Island star also hosts and produces his own self-development podcast, Learning As I Go.

The PR guru is hoping to find love in the villa, confessing in his pre-villa interview that he looks up to his brother Adam and his wife Caroline’s relationship, stating: “I always say I want to find ‘my Caroline’.”
Scott is joining the line up of a range of ex-islanders from previous seasons, including Curtis Pritchard, Gabby Allen, Kaz Crossley, Nas Majeed, Catherine Agbaje, Olivia Hawkins, Ronnie Vint, Elma Pazar, India Reynolds, Marcel Sommerville and Luca Bish.
