Roosevelt County honored its business leaders and community volunteers Saturday night.
The annual Chamber of Commerce/Community Development Corp. banquet was originally set for Friday but rescheduled because of Thursday’s snowstorm.
Here are the award winners:
• Harley & Faye Borden awards:
• Portales High School for the addition to its athletic complexes.
• Eastern New Mexico University for its outdoor circuit fitness area.
• Roosevelt County Electric Co-op for the development of the downtown Corner Plaza area.
• Ambassador of the Year: Blessy Coss
• Workhorse of the Year: Eldon Merrick.
• President’s Award: Sweetwater’s at Landall’s.
• Warm Heart of the Sunbelt Award: Doc Elder.
