It has been over two years since it was announced that Ranveer Singh will play the lead in the Shaktimaan-inspired superhero movie. Since then, there has been no update on the same except for Mukesh Khanna’s reactions, where he expressed issues regarding his TV show being turned into a movie. While Khanna is not okay with Singh playing the lead, we finally have an update on which actress is reportedly playing the female lead.
Ranveer’s leading lady for Shaktimaan
As per the reports, Baby John actress Wamiqa Gabbi is being considered to play the female lead in the superhero movie. Minnal Murali director Basil Joseph will helm the ambitious project for which he has been working on for a few years now. The actress, who has impressed the audience with her performances in Jubilee, Khufiya, Charlie Chopra & the Mystery of Solang Valley and others, might be seen alongside Ranveer Singh in the Shaktimaan movie.
Further in this entertainment news, the actress also bagged a movie alongside Telugu actor Nani. A source told Mid-day, “While discussions are still ongoing, the potential pairing of Wamiqa and Ranveer in Basil’s film would bring a fresh dynamic to a project that’s been in development for five years.”
So far, these are just speculations and there is no official confirmation on the casting. However, this is big news for Ranveer fans who have been waiting for some updates on the superhero movie. The source also added, “Once the script is locked and schedules are finalised, the casting will be confirmed.” Currently, Ranveer is busy with Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller, which is all set to release this year. The actor will then work on Basil Joseph’s movie in March this year.
