Udupi, Jan 16: In a significant move to strengthen the business community’s bonds, the Kallianpur deanery organized a ground-breaking get-together for self-employed entrepreneurs at the prestigious Amulya Auditorium of Anugraha diocesan pastoral house. The event, held on Tuesday afternoon, January 14, marked a pivotal moment in fostering professional collaboration within the community.
The gathering commenced with spiritual reflections, setting a contemplative tone for the proceedings that followed. Rosy Quadros, president of Catholic Sabha Kallianpur deanery, extended a heartfelt welcome to the diverse group of business professionals in attendance.
The event was particularly notable for the presence of Msgr Ferdinand Gonsalves, the vicar general of Udupi diocese, who also serves as the spiritual director of the Catholic Sabha. In his address, Monsignor Gonsalves emphasized the transformative potential of such gatherings in building a more cohesive business community. His words resonated with the attendees as he articulated his vision for collaborative growth and mutual support among entrepreneurs.
Elias D’Souza, convener of the seminar and president of Catholic Sabha Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte, delivered an impactful keynote address. The highlight of the afternoon was an engaging session led by Alwyn Quadros, a distinguished businessman and two terms president of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh. Drawing from his wealth of experience, Quadros shared crucial insights into business success strategies, captivating the audience with his practical approach to entrepreneurial challenges.
In what proved to be a highly interactive segment, participants engaged in robust networking sessions, sharing their diverse business experiences and forging potentially valuable professional connections. The exchange of ideas and experiences added a dynamic dimension to the formal proceedings.
The event also served as a platform for cultural enrichment with the launch of ‘Teen Egarjyo ani Yek Kutam’, a Konkani novel by Dr Gerald Pinto. Santhosh Carnelio, president of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, led the book release ceremony, which was particularly significant as the novel explores the rich historical tapestry of Mount Rosary, St Mary’s Syrian, and Milagres churches.
Archibald Furtado, the president-designate of Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte, demonstrated exemplary skills as the master of ceremonies, ensuring smooth transitions between segments. The event drew to a close with Marina Lewis delivering a comprehensive vote of thanks, acknowledging the collective effort that made the seminar a success.
