Colombo, January 15 (Daily Mirror)- The government will continue its businesses despite the decision by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) to boycott Parliamentary Committee meetings, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation Lal Kantha said.
He told the media that the government will not delay Parlaimentary business or any other businesses even if the Opposition boycotts Parliamentary Committee meetings.
“The Opposition has a right to boycott. However, we will not delay Parlaimentary business or any other businesses. We will continue our work,” he said.
The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) decided to boycott Parliamentary Committee meetings claiming that the ruling party has not given adequate representation to the Opposition in the committees.
