Corvallis book lovers have two events from which to choose in the next week.
First up, the Corvallis Book Bin is hosting a free author event with historical fiction author and native Oregonian Stacey Kean.
The event takes place at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21. Kean will discuss her new historical fiction thriller “The Nazi Housewife of Queens, New York.” Based on a true story, the book dives into a little-known chapter of American history.
According to the author, it’s “a compelling narrative that intertwines tragedy, betrayal, and survival.”
At the event, Kean will discuss the inspiration and historical research behind the book, as well as lead an open-ended conversation with attendees.
On the lighter side, the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library is hosting “Cooks and Books, a free, in-person cooking demonstration and showcase of cookbooks from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23 C3 (Corvallis Community Center, 2601 NW Tyler Ave).
