KEARNEY, Mo. (KCTV) – A business owner is accused of turning an 85,000 pound crane into a weapon and targeting Clay County Sheriff’s deputies.
Deputies arrived at LPG Ventures in Kearney, Mo., Thursday morning to execute a court order. Deputies were in the process of seizing property so it could be sold to pay a judgement in a recent civil case.
A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said they believe the owner of the business snuck onto the property after deputies secured it. They said the business owner jumped into an 85,000 pound crane. Deputies said they feared for his life when he allegedly drove the crane toward them.
