A total of 4,040,200 tourists arrived last year, surpassing the previous record of 3,976,777 set in 2019. December 2024 also set a new all-time record for that month, with 133,063 arrivals—a 7.6% jump from the 123,630 visitors recorded in December 2023. British tourists remain Cyprus’s most loyal visitors, making up 23.7% of December’s arrivals (31,501 people). Visitors from Israel followed closely at 17.4% (23,168), with Poland (9.4%), Greece (9%), and Germany (5.7%) rounding out the top five. These figures show that Cyprus continues to attract a diverse range of travelers, a positive sign for the long-term stability of the industry.
Interestingly, while holidays remain the primary reason for visiting the island (49.6% in December), there’s been a notable increase in people visiting friends and relatives (37.5%) and those coming for business purposes (12.7%). This diversification in travel reasons further underscores Cyprus’s broad appeal.
