Mérida is consolidating itself as a national tourist destination thanks to the “Expo POTEN Tour Mérida 2025”, which brings together more than 100 representatives of the country’s tourism industry. The city is hosting this event for the second consecutive time, reflecting its growing importance in the national tourism field.
Municipal President Cecilia Patrón Laviada has expressed her commitment to promote Mérida as a key destination to visit in 2025. To achieve this, working groups are being held between the city’s tourism sector and representatives of the tourism industry, to present the city’s tourism offer and promote business relations.
In this regard, Armando Casares Espinosa, head of the Municipal Tourism Unit, reported that the City Council is working on consolidating strategies to spread the image of Mérida at a national and international level, intending to generate new projects that attract more tourists, generate greater economic benefits for the city and more benefits for the people of Mérida.
