Netflix’s new film starring Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx has received an incredibly low Rotten Tomatoes score and viewers say they “couldn’t get past 20 minutes”.
Back in Action, directed by Seth Gordon, was released to Netflix on 17 January and has received a very low Rotten Tomatoes score of 24 per cent. The action/drama revolves around former CIA spies Emily and Matt who get drawn back into espionage after their secret identities are exposed.
One Reddit user took to social media to share that they struggled to even get through the whole movie. Away_Compote_4315 wrote: “This has to be one of the worst netflix movie of all time. Lame story, lame acting & lame cheesy one liners. I couldn’t get past 20 mins. Anyone else feel the same?”
X4ulZ4n replied to the thread: “I was going to watch it this weekend after hearing an interview with them on the radio. Is it really that bad?”
Despite the low Rotten Tomatoes score, it scored a reasonable 6 out of 10 on IMDB and a higher than average 3.6/5 on Google reviews. Netflix posted on X, formerly Twitter, to announce that the film was now streaming. They wrote: “Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx back on our screens. Back in Action is now playing.”
Fans of the streaming giant took to the comments to express their excitement for the new film.

Jamie Foxx has had some time away from performing and acting due to medical reasons, and Cameron Diaz also hasn’t appeared in any TV or film in recent years.
Back in Action was a return for the pair and despite receiving mixed reviews, fans of the two actors are thrilled to see them perform again.
